Borgo Il Poggio

Our stay in Tuscany was just wonderful. We were impressed by the rustic ambience and the picturesque beauty of the place. We especially enjoyed the idyllic breakfast, which was characterized by local products. The tranquility and serenity of the area made our stay a memorable one.

Great resort with amazing pool

As we first arrived we have been impressed by the landscape and the location of the resort. The building was nicely done and in good shape. We had a nice veranda directly opposite to the restaurant and a big basket with groceries was prepared for us in the kitchen of the flat. We also got a bottle of the house wine which was excellent! However I have to state that the pool is just amazing! It is very spacious and at the. Most parts around 3.5m deep! Amazing! Overall a good experience!

Unforgettable

Il Poggio is heavenly. The houses are beautifully scattered across the huge property, each with a space outside to enjoy the stunning nature. The owners are kind, friendly and so thoughtful. The four of us (we have 2 girls) loved spending days there without the need to leave elsewhere at all. We played basketball, bocce, tennis, used the swimming pool every single day. The highlight was the view from the window, all the vinyards & the sunsets. Our girls asked if we could live there forever. It was the most relaxing, soul-enriching holiday. The owners welcomed us with wine, coffee, pasta. What a nice touch that we did not have to look for food after arriving. The coffee moka meant so much to a big coffee drinker like me. We saw beautiful nearby Tuscan towns & found brilliant local restaurants nearby & also had a beautiful dinner at il Poggio one evening. Bruna, the kindest, friendliest local dog, made my daughters’ stay unforgettable. We are definitely coming back.

Very clean, located at the end of a village, with a great view over the Tuscan hills, the pool was very clean and large, the kitchen was well equipped.

The site does not do it justice!

The silence, swimming pool, care of the external environments, farmhouse beyond the expectations one has when looking at the site.

The views are enchanting. It's a 360° immersed in nature!

Location immersed in the hills between Florence and Pisa. Breathtaking views. Friendly and very helpful staff. Services available beyond expectations. Relaxation guaranteed! Homemade cuisine but the whole context makes you feel at home. Highly recommended.

A pleasant jewel in a corner of paradise.

The structure is located on top of a hill with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. The apartments are super equipped, and the kitchen is equipped with all the necessary equipment (including the dishwasher). the welcome basket is a pleasant surprise and contains very useful and good quality products. the welcome, friendliness and quality found in the facility make you feel pampered but in a family environment.

Central and Peaceful - What a gem!

We have now visited Il Poggio 3 times, at different times of the year. The apartments and villas are comfortable and clean, with everything you need, and have their own private outdoor space. Many have wonderful views over the rolling Tuscan countryside. The good-sized swimming pool is set away from the apartments, which remain blissfully peaceful, even in high season. A quiet evening stroll among the vineyards and olive groves is a memorable end to days spent visiting Pisa, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, etc., all easily reachable by car. Can’t wait to go back–again!

Enjoy Italy at its best

What a fantastic place. Close enough to Pisa and Florence for easy day trips yet deserted enough to be a fantastic family hideaway. Thank you to Massimo and all for making this a truly memorable week long break. We will be back!

Good Find

Was out of season, so we had the place almost to ourselves with just a couple of farmhands knocking about. Got lucky with the weather - only one cloudy day - and was a good base to explore Florence and San Gimignano etc. Local Shop was not open but town with everything was 10 mins by car. Accommodation simple but clean and everything worked including WiFi (but only near the reception). Their Olive Oil was good. The wine was still too early to drink. There is a cheese guy in the village for sheeps cheese and ricotta. All in all, a very nice place, with nice people. Recommended. Might well go again when a bit warmer!

We visited 'il Poggio' during our recent trip to Italy. It's position in the Tuscan hills is breath-taking - pick a bench a enjoy spectacular views. The management and staff were friendly, hardworking and extremely efficient, despite record temperatures. For example, we reported a problem with a toilet cistern, which was fixed within the hour.
We also enjoyed a couple of very tasty meals in the well-appointed restaurant. The pool was a delight to escape the heat with a refreshing swim - the deep end is 4 metres deep - which is excellent for diving.
The home-produced olive oil is exquisite and we have brought several cans home as a delicious souvenir of a delightful few days.

Fabulous location - one hour from all three cities, Florence, Siena and Pisa. Fantastic views. Beautiful scenery - perfect location for seeing Tuscany. Holiday cottages are well equipped, with super amenities, perfect for family holidays, as well as the more secluded cottages if you just want some peace and quiet. Self catering if required, or alternatively there is a restaurant onsite. Beautiful swimming pool with barbecue area too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

We spent two weeks in this great facility. Lived in the little house “Olmo”. With air conditioning, which we didn't need despite it being 34°. The house appears to be well insulated. Ok, the furnishings are simple, but clean and tidy. Dishes etc. were rather simple and spartan, but completely sufficient for two weeks. The beds very comfortable. Staff and support great. Our view from the terrace was fantastic. The pool was clean and used every day in September!

We had a wonderful holiday here, saw a lot of the beautiful area and felt very relaxed.

We stayed at the Castagno as a couple and booked half board. We liked it very much. The all-round view cannot be topped, everything is well maintained and clean. Even though everything was fully booked, it was never noisy. (The holidays were over) Sometimes we even had the pool to ourselves. Il Poggio is centrally located between the main attractions, meaning you can reach everything within an hour.
The owner and staff are helpful and very friendly. The food was good home cooking and very plentiful.
The furnishings of the house are simple, but if something is missing you can always let us know. However, it is not suitable for more than two people. (folding couch is right at the entrance door)
We can highly recommend Il Poggio!

Wonderful place! We had never stayed in a Tuscan farmhouse, we were pleasantly surprised! Beautiful place, large spaces and wonderful hospitality, we felt at home. Excellent and genuine cuisine.
Our Ginestra house will always remain in our hearts and in that of our dog, who is very happy to be there. We will definitely be back.

Splendid farmhouse in the Tuscan hills with rooms with wooden ceilings, terracotta floors and Tuscan-style furniture. There is a basketball court, bowls, tennis and a large swimming pool plus one for children. Ideal for a completely relaxing holiday away from the city... even your cell phone is hard to reach here.
